I Völdo si formano per necessità. Necessità di un suono ossessivo,
avvolgente, caldo e pesante.
fermo.
Le influenze sono molteplici :
John Zorn, Kyuss, Melvins, Mercury Rev, Jesus Lizard, Lento, Neurosis,
Joy Division, Tomahawk, Cow, Liars, Motorhead, Black flag, Chrome,
Bill Frisell, Massacre, This Heat, Helmet, My Bloody Valentine, Old Time
Relijun, Sonic Youth, Massive Attack, Laddiobolocko, Wire,Bachi da
Pietra, Sound, Slint, Pere ubu, The Residents, David Thomas, Jello Biafra,
Pil, Electric Wizard, Acid Mother Temple, Fushistsusha, Cul de sac,
Pontiak, Mad Season.
Maluka ”, completamente autoprodotto, registrato e mixato nello studio
-------------------
Voldo born out of a necessity. Necessity of a haunting, enveloping, warm
and heavy sound. The influences are various: John Zorn, Kyuss , Melvins ,
Mercury Rev, Jesus Lizard , Slow, Neurosis , Joy Division, Tomahawk, Cow ,
Liars , Motorhead , Black flag , Chrome , Bill Frisell , Massacre, This Heat ,
Helmet , My Bloody Valentine, Old Time Relijun , Sonic Youth, Massive
Attack, Laddiobolocko , Wire, Silkworms Stone, Sound, Slint , Pere ubu , The
Residents , David Thomas , Jello Biafra, GDP, Electric Wizard , Acid Mother
Temple , Fushistsusha , Cul de Sac, Pontiak , Mad Season .
A deep and full guitar ruled by delays and distortions, as well as a twisted and
fuzzy distorted bass, environmental/noisy electronics and an effected and
filtered voice are seasoned by a good dose of " mathematical " sarcasm. The
inclination for melody is NOT underlined by the presence of "verses" or
"choruses " but it exists in it......
The first line-up was formed in 2008 in Anghiari (AR), at the headquarters
and rehearsal studio of the Cultural Association “Mea Revolutio(nae)” ,
"shelter" of the band and main hub of the whole project .
In 2009, the official debut at c.s.o.a. Ex Mattatoio in Perugia.
Within a few months, due to extra-musical commitments of the drummer
Omar “Sbarakkobaba” Massi, the band split-up, but the obsession for the
project and the need to give vent to the many musical influences drove Völdo
to continue the task (aim).
Michele Calamita joined as a new drummer in the 2011 and the band
finally achieves the perfect line-up which will perform in several concerts and
soundtracks .
For the "Holy Christmas" 2013 they release their first album, called "Hella
Maluka", totally self-produced, recorded and mixed in the Mea Revolutio(nae)
studio thanks to the prophetical and critical support of the sound engineers
Valerio Romanelli and Giacomo Calli (who’s also the band's live sound mixer)
and mastered by Giovanni Versari at “La maestà mastering” in Tredozio (FC).
